Social Marketing on Promoting same sex marraiges

Following Social Marketing activities can be used to promote
·         Social marketing campaigns are used on wider scale to educate people about different issues like domestic violence, it is also used for promoting organ donation and many other social causes and it has proved very effective. Same social marketing campaigns should be organised to promote same sex marriages by explaining people about their rights and also by explaining that it is not the matter of choice but a biological thing.
·         Organising gay parade in the crowded cities.
·         Use of social websites is one of the best things to educate people about the rights of gays as it is the best way to connect many people at one time. A proper community should be made on social websites and on the homepage all the rights and the reasons should be written.
·         If we put the posters and hoardings every where it will not be effective at all, as this sensitive topic when someone sees on the poster will never understand. People must be made understood by personally explaining them by other people.

Social Marketing on Drinking and Driving

Social Marketing refers to the application of marketing to the solution of social and health problems. The fundamental aim  of my research is to an effort to reduce drunk driving among youths with the help of social marketing awareness and use of versatile  theories like  triadic influence and protection motivation in cognitive effect with respect to fear as numerous accidents have taken place and to know  opinion of the youth. Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) can be useful tool to reduce reckless driving through coping and threat appraisal. PMT states that behaviour and attitude can be changed through cognitive process. Guerrilla marketing is a valuable approach which plays a cameo in reducing reckless driving to certain extent. The consumption of alcohol has been very high in UK among youths and its advertising has also been criticised. I will be using quantitative methodology for my research which includes a survey which will be conducted to get the key findings and conclusion taking the opinions of 60 respondents from age group of 16-30 years.
INTRODUCTION:

Vehicles are the foremost primary grounds for high death rate among youngsters from Age group of 16-24 years .Drunk driving with excessive alcohol consumption above blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level can be very dangerous to the driver as well as pedestrians. In 2004, accidents due to drunk driving which caused death were more than 16,500 and innumerable people injured in US and all these deaths were escapable according to National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA).Youth communities are generally addicted to smoking, gambling and followed by drinking. They take initiative in drinking parties which is then followed by drink and driving and so on increases fatality rates . Drinking and Driving is extremely hazardous mixture as its very difficult to judge proper distance and reacts to obstacles because of present of alcohol in the body. Children’s who are very close to their parents do not drink because of social and emotional influence of family. Protection Motivation theory aids to reduce drunk driving to certain extent as its states that human behavior can be changed with context of fear. There has been various studies conducted by researchers and also various organization have been established like Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE), Ontario Students against Impaired Driving (OSAID) and Mother Against Drunk Driving (MADD) though outcomes of the research are unclear. The main aim of my research is to understand the behavior of youth towards drunk driving and to spread awareness with use of various theories bringing innovative social perceptiveness.

Research on Declining sales of Argos

I.              RESEARCH LIMITATIONS
Accurate and up to date information is very important for any researcher as it can help company in many ways, however there are number of reasons why these potential benefits cannot be obtained. There are a number of limitations that a researcher have, the limitations that we faced during the research were:
1)    Budgetary and Time constraints
Due to budgetary and time constraints the sample size taken by us for research was 170, which is comparatively less and accurate conclusion or solution cannot be drawn from these data.
2)    Reliability of data
This is one of the Major problems faced by all researchers. The data given by the respondents cannot be true all the time, sometimes they just randomly fill the questionnaire, not giving proper and relevant information.
3)    Legal and Ethical constraints
According to Data Protection Act (1998), personal information cannot be asked to respondents unless proper reason is given as to why the data is collected. We had some respondents who were aware of this law and dint gave their personal information such as what is their annual income, etc.

Research on Declining sales of Argos

FINDINGS:
Argos is one of leading retail brands dealing in electronics, gifts, sports, leisure, jewellery etc. But in recent time Argos sales have declined which is clearly indicated in the research that was conducted. Some of the key findings are as follows:
  1. From the research, we found that there are differences in male and female satisfaction from service available at Argos. This may be because of their differences in their demographic profile and buying behavior.
  2. We also found that Argos has limited number of stores or their location is not convenient to majority of our respondents.  We also found that most of the respondents think that Argos products are not value for money.
  3. The success of multi-channel had been a dramatic change in people’s buying behavior and majority of people buy from Argos website. This indicates that Argos needs to regularly update its website and thereby offer right combination of choice, value and convenience.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
With the help of survey, we found some reasons why there is decline in the sales of Argos in the recent years. Following are some of the recommendation that we think can help Argos to improve their sales:
1.    From some questions answered by the respondents it is clear that they like the brand but they found it very far away to go and shop, hence Argos must try opening new outlets in high-streets so that it is easily accessible for majority of people.
2.    Some respondents feel that the staff of Argos does not give proper service hence they prefer to shop online. Argos must give more importance to the service they provide in stores. For e.g. they must see to it that the customers are not made to stand in queues for too long.
3.    The Timing Hours are not convenient to the maximum respondents, Argos must try changing its timing, they usually shut down at 5.30 pm and very few places at 6.30 pm. Customers usually complaint that by the time they come from office the shop is shut down. So we think they must have flexible operating hours.
4.    The success of multi-channel system at Argos has given people various option of shopping. In order to keep continuing the success of multi-channel, they need to find out new ways to give people the ease to shop from Argos. For instance, they can develop their mobile application which gives the person to shop from Argos anywhere and at anytime.

H0: p = 0. There is no significant effect between product knowledge of customer service assistants at Argos and customers’ satisfaction level.
H1: p ≠ 0 (p < 0 or p > 0) There is significant effect between product knowledge of customer service assistants at Argos and customers’ satisfaction level.
In table 4.1, r value is 0.439 which indicates that there is weak positive correlation between the two variables selected. On the other hand, the sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000 < 0.05 which proves that the two variables are statistically significantly correlated.
Since, the effect is significant, Null Hypothesis is rejected.
This proves that there is significant effect between product knowledge of customer service assistants at Argos and customers’ satisfaction level.

H0: p = 0. There is no significant effect between customers’ preference way of shopping and customers’ preference of shopping from Argos website.
H1: p ≠ 0 (p < 0 or p > 0). There is significant effect between customers’ preference way of shopping and customers’ preference of shopping from Argos website.
In the above table, r value is 0.525 which indicates that the relation between the two variables is fair positive correlation. On the other hand, the sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000 < 0.05 which proves that the two variables are statistically significantly correlated.
Since, the effect is significant, Null Hypothesis is rejected.
Therefore, the above table shows that significant effect between customers’ preference way of shopping and customers’ preference of shopping from Argos website.

In the above figure, r value is 0.338 and the sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000 < 0.05 which proves that the two variables have weak positive correlation but significant relationship.
Since, the effect is significant, Null Hypothesis is rejected.
It is concluded that there is significant effect between customers’ overall satisfaction level and whether they would recommend others to shop from Argos.
